Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with prolactinoma, without use of dopamine receptor antagonist in the last 6 months, and no history of pituitary surgery or radiotherapy.The diagnosis of prolactinoma is based on the following: symptoms and signs of hyperprolactimia for >6 months; serum PRL levels >100ng/ml; magnetic resonance or computed tomography demonstrating pituitary adenoma. There is no sign of tumor impression on the third ventricle.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Reasons for ineligibility were postmenopausal period, acute or chronic diseases, and use of drugs that could inrease PRL levels, pregnancy, lactation, alcohol abuse, and smoking, untreated endocrinopathies, use of drugs that could influence the prevalance of obesity. Patients with GH deficiency, polycysitic ovary syndrome, and those submitted to bariatric surgery were excluded, as well as the patients can not afford the treatment fee and lost to follow-up.
