Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult male and female patients, aged >=18 years, undergoing a surgical procedure that includes a skin incision

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients will be excluded if they require a pure endoscopic or radiologic procedure. Patients previously enrolled in the study and patients who are not expected to be available for, or to cooperate with, interviews will also be excluded

MeasureTime frame
Presence of severe pain that has arisen and persisted for 12 months after the indexed surgery that is not due to disease recurrence or pre-existing pain syndrome;—

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Persistent pain lasting for 12 months after surgery.;2. The interference of chronic post-surgical pain with daily activities.;3. The impact of chronic post-surgical pain on general health status.;4. The proportion of patients seeking pain related treatment.;—
