Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Elderly patients scheduled to undergo unilateral proximal femoral surgery (hip hemiarthroplasty, total hip arthroplasty, and intertrochanteric fracture surgery) during lumbar plexus-sciatic nerve block or spinal anesthesia, aged 65-90 years, BMI 18-28 kg/m2, ASA I-III, signed informed consent form for anesthesia and the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score <=23; NYHA class III-IV; History of cardiac or thoracic surgery; Pre-existing neurological or mental disease; Severe liver or kidney function damage; Anticipated difficulty with neuropsychological assessment; Failed to complete the assessment; Contraindications to lumbar plexus-sciatic nerve block or spinal anesthesia.
