Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged between 20 to 80 years old; 2. Patients with good adherence and willing to participate; 3. Patients without regular medication and unstable blood lipid level in recent three months. Diagnostic Criteria of the Dyslipidemia (when any of the following 4 criteria are satisfied): 1. total cholesterol (TC) >5.18 mmol/L; 2. triglyceride (TG) >1.7 mmol/L; 3. high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) 3.37mmol/L; The Spleen and Kidney Yang deficiency Syndrome and Phlegm-Dampness Retention Syndrome of TCM diagnostic criteria: 1. Primary symptoms of the Phlegm-Dampness Retention Syndrome: fat, head heavy as wrapped, Chest tightness,nausea,numbness and heavy sensation of the limbs, swollen tongue, slippery and greasy tongue coating, string and smooth pulse sensation; Secondary symptoms: Palpitations, insomnia, poor appetite, and tastelessness in the mouth; 2. Primary symptoms of the Spleen kidney Yang deficiency syndrome: Aversion to cold and cold and cold limbs, dizziness, languid, loose stools. Secondary symptoms: poor appetite, limb edema, abdomen distension, pale and swollen tongue, white tongue coating, deep and slim pulse sensation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with secondary dyslipidemia (such as hypothyroidism, nephrotic syndrome, chronic renal failure, primary diseases of liver and hematopoietic system, dyslipidemia caused by adrenal cortical steroids, and alcohol or certain birth control pills); 2. Patients with cerebrovascular diseases or aphasia that are unable to answer the questions or cooperate with the tongue extending; 3. Patients with mental disability or other disease that are unable to carry out the inquires. 4. Patients combined with acute infectious diseases or in stress situation (such as acute myocardial infarction, acute cerebrovascular disease, etc.), as well as the pregnancy women. Patients will be excluded if they meet any of the four criteria above.
