Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The retrospective study: 1) The case should be definitely diagnosed as rectal cancer by post-operation pathology; 2) The case should be the radical resection no matter what kind of operation manner it was applied; 3) The patients should have the capacity for act, can understand and finish filling in the scales or answer the questions of researchers; 4) The patients agreed to be involved in the research and sign the informed consent. The prospective study: 1) The case should be diagnosed as primary rectal cancer by tissue biopsy in colonoscopy or anoscopy; 2) The distance from inferior margin of tumor to anal margin should be less than 10cm; 3) Some clear and definite metastasis lesions or locally seriously invading surrounding organs was not found in the routine preoperative examination; 4) The patients should have the capacity for act, can understand and finish filling in the scales or answer the questions of researchers; 5) The patients agreed to be involved in the research and sign the informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The retrospective study: 1) Tumor recurrence or metastasis, or a new tumor was found during the follow-up visit; 2) The patients combined with serious diseases such as mental disorders, paralysis, serious cardiac dysfunction or lung dysfunction, and affect the quality of life apparently. The prospective study: 1) Some remote metastasis lesions or locally seriously invading surrounding organs was found during the operation and radical operation couldn't be finished; 2) recurrence or metastasis, or a new tumor was found during the follow-up visit; 3) The patients combined with serious diseases such as mental disorders, paralysis, serious cardiac dysfunction or lung dysfunction, and affect the quality of life apparently.
