Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inpatients in the Gastroenterology Department of The Central Hospital of Jiangmen City since Dec 2009, who had been diagnosed as the biliopancreatic diseases with typical clinical manifestations, such as abdominal pain,nausea and/or vomiting, and imaged by B ultrasound, CT or MRCP. These inpatients had the indication of ERCP woth preoperative serum amylase in the normal range. They signed the informed consent by ERCP.These inpatients had been included with high-risk factors of PEP, such as old age, cardiovascular diseases, long operation time during ERCP.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with acute pancreatitis and chronic pancreatitis acute developed, previous PEP, duodenal incision operation, choledochoduodenostomy, intestinal obstruction and/or intestinal stenosis were excluded. And patients with a new brain infarction, myocardial infarction, or severe cardiovascular dysfunction in nearly 3 months were excluded. Also, patients had nonionic contrast medium allergy, mental disorder and/or incompatibility.
