Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients who were admitted within 72 hours from symptoms onset and diagnosed with ischemic stroke confirmed by brain CT or MRI; 2. the potential etiology of stroke was classified as large-artery atherosclerosis(LAA), small-artery occlusion(SAO) based on TOAST criteria.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. the potential etiology of stroke was classified as cardio-embolism(CE), stroke of other determined etiology(OC) and stroke of undetermined etiology(UND) based on TOAST criteria; 2. administration of ticlopidine, glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and anticoagulant within 1 week prior to admission; 3. family or personal history of bleeding disorders; 4. platelet count 450×10^9/L; 5. other contraindications for clopidogrel; 6. recently use of PPI; 7. Patients who refused to participate in this research.
