18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with paroxysmal AF and long-lasting persistent AF between 18 and 80 years of age wereselected on the basis of the following inclusion criteria: drug-refractory AF; inability to tolerate antiarrhythmic drugs or anticoagulation therapy; left ventricular ejection fraction of 40% or greater; able to provide written informed consent; life expectancy of at least 2 years; and able to attend scheduled follow-up visits.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with thromboembolism in LA, severe structural heart disease, an LA diameter >=80 mm or ejection fraction <=40% were excluded
