Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adult patients with normal sinus rhythm prior to undergoing first time cardiac surgery during our research time 2011 in Beingjing Chaoyang hospital cardiac surgery centers.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. patients who had a history of atrial fibrillation (chronic AF,lone AF, idiopathic AF,etc.); 2. patients with emergent cardiac surgery; 3. patients with a inplanted pacemaker or ICD; 4. patients had active infection or chronic inflammatory disorders or impaired immune system, or was on anti-inflammatory therapy; 5. patients with hemodialysis or liver failure; 6. patients who refused to participate in or haven't give written informed consent.
