Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were intact femoral neck, cystic lesions affecting < 33% of the femoral head on plain radiographs for HRA; predicted primary stability of a cementless acetabular component on pre-operative templating; no plans for child-bearing and no history of metal allergy or renal impairment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included a history of hip joint sepsis, primary or secondary malignancy in the involved hip, and severe bone deficiency requiring the use of structural bone for either acetabular or femoral reconstruction.
