Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 60 patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status II to III and aged more than 65 years who were scheduled to undergo elective primary unilateral posterolateral approach THA

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients refusal of nerve block or spinal anesthesia; contraindications to regional anesthesia (e.g., allergy to any of the medications used, coagulopathy, or infection near site of puncture), significant peripheral neuropathy or neurological disorder affecting the lower extremity, cognitive or psychiatric condition that could affect patient assessment, and/or the inability to provide informed consent (e.g., language barrier)
