Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients who were scheduled for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anesthesia because of gall bladder polyps, chronic cholecystitis or gallstones were enrolled in this study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with a BMI 30 kg/m2, heart rate (HR) <50 bpm at a pre-operativevisit, acute cholecystitis, chronic pain diseases except gallstone disease, renal or hepatic disease, analgesics or tranquilizers usage (during the last month before the cholecystectomy), a history of alcohol or drug abuse, ASA physical status III or greater, contraindications to any of the drugs used in the study, and pregnancy. Moreover, patients were excluded if the operation was converted to an open procedure, a drainage catheter was inserted
