Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. aged 18 to 80 years; 2. within 72h of stroke onset; 3. somnolence, or Full Outline of Unresponsiveness Scale=14, or Glasgow Coma Scale=12; 4. receiving no treatments of any other methods to reduce ICP, such as excess ventilation, barbiturate load, hypothermia, decompressive craniectomy, and external ventricular drainage; 5. ischemic signs on CT/MRI involving at least 2/3 of the MCA territory.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. both pupils fixed and dilated or anisocoria; 2. congestive heart failure; 3. acute myocardial infarction; 4. shock, systolic blood pressure50mmHg), and cannot be corrected within a short time; 6. kidney failure (Cr>2mg/dL) , and cannot be corrected within a short time; 7. Hypoproteinemia (ALB160mmol/L, or K+5.0mmol/L, or plasma osmotic pressure>340 mOsm/L), and cannot be corrected within a short time; 9. pregnancy or postpartum perioperative period; 10. local infection at insertion site; 11. patients with coagulopathy (PLT1.3).
