Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects will be male or female at 18 to 45 years of age who has diagnosis of non-AR for 1 or more year. The skin prink test must be negative. They have the history of nasal symptoms upon cold air exposures (AC, winter season, cold wind).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects will be excluded from the study if they had (i) Intolerance or allergic reactions to pseudoephedrine; (ii) Presence of underlying diseases, e.g. acute infections, acute sinusitis, severe asthma, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, hyperthyroidism, liver or kidney disease, or severe neuropsychiatric conditions; (iii) Structural abnormalities of the nose such as nasal septum deviation more than 50% and nasal polyp; (iv) Use of antihistamines within 2 weeks, topical or systemic decongestant within 1 week, or topical steroid within 4 weeks before entering the study; (v) Use of monoamine oxidase inhibitor before entering the study; (vi) Use of serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor before entering the study; (vii) Pregnant or nursing women; (viii) Drinking alcohol for 24 hours or caffeinated beverages for 12 hours prior to the study; (xi) Unable to measure nasal airway resistance (NAR) by rhinomanometry at the beginning.
