Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients were eligible for enrollment if they were endotracheal intubation for mechanical ventilation whose mechanical ventilation time was expected to exceed 48h and they were 80 years of age or older; Patients or their guardians should agree with this clinical trail and sign the medical informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with skull base injury, oropharynx injury, esophagus injury, advanced cancer or other infectious disease; extubation, death or giving up treatment, or new pneumonia occurred within 48 hours after mechanical ventilation; obvious enteral nutrition contraindication, such as intestinal obstruction, gastrointestinal perforation,et al.
