Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Conforming to the diagnostic standards of sepsis, severe sepsis and septic shock; 2. Acute gastrointestinal dysfunction; 3. Aged seventeen to eighty years old; 4. Expectedlifetime in patients more than seven days (treatment course of traditional Chinese medicine); 5. Voluntary participants with informed consent who understands the purpose of the research.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. End-stage renal failure (used to rely on dialysis); Severe chronic hepatic dysfunction (Child-Pugh class C)end-stage; 2. Cutting-edge reverse type ventricular tachycardia; Known mechanical obstruction that significantly reflect the ventricular filling or outflow or both; 3. The patients with treatment limitation (such as disagreeing to recovery or mechanical ventilation and/or dialysis); 4. Known or estimated weight more than one hundred and thirty-five kilogram; Pregnancy patients; 5. Patients with malignant tumor; Patients with previous history of diseases of immune system; 6. Conformed coronary heart disease and chronic systolic heart failure.
