Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA I~II patients selected for gynecological laparotomy undergoing spinal anesthesia, with phantom limb syndrome, are enrolled in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included patients with contraindication of spinal anesthesia, diabetes mellitus, lower extremity injury, neurologic deficit, or documented peripheral polyneuropathy consistent with a proprioception deficit. Patients unable to flex and extend knee were excluded. Patients in whom the subarachnoid block failed to achieve a bilateral T8 sensory level to pinprick within 10 min or provide adequate anesthesia for surgery were excluded.
