Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The diagnostic criteria forgeneralized aggressive periodontitisisaccording to the classification proposed at the International Workshop for the Classification of Periodontal Diseases and Conditions in 1999.The inclusion criteria of the generalized aggressive periodontitisgroup are: (1) The onset of the periodontal disease occurred under 35 years-old; (2) At least 8 teeth with probingdepth (PD)over 6 mm and attachment loss (AL) over 3 mm, at least 3 involved teethare not first molars or incisors; (3) Full mouth periapical radiographic evidence was present of alveolar bone loss; (4) At lease 20 functional teeth remained, at least 1 molar remained in every quadrant.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Current or previous smoker; (2) A diagnosis of chronic periodontitis; (3) The presence of systemic disease or pregnant; (4) Drug allergy to penicillin or MET; (5) History of periodontal therapy or antimicrobial therapy within 6 months, or usage of any medication (including oral contraceptive drugs) within 3 months; (6) History of orthodontic treatment or noteworthy occlusal disharmony.
