18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Males or females from 18-70 years of age; 2. A confirmed diagnosis of PLE either by typical patient history and/or histology of skin lesions and/or clinical symptoms, positive photoprovocation results that had begun over one year previously; 3. Serological tests for lupus erythematosus (ANF, anti-RO and anti-La antibodies) were negative; 4. All patients provided fully informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of or history of malignant skin tumors; 2. Patients received photosentizing drugs treatment recently; 3. Pregnant women or females of child-bearing potential; 4. Photosensitive diseases such as porphyria, chronic actinic dermatitis, xeroderma pigmentosum or basal cell naevus syndrome and so on; 5. Autoimmune disorders such as lupus erythematosus or dermatomyositis; 6. Psychiatric disorders; 7. Immune deficiency or systemic treatment with steroids and /or other immunosuppressive drugs within six months before start of the study; 8. UV exposure in the test fields within eight weeks before start of the study; 9. General poor health status.
