Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals ages with osteoarthritis older than 60 years old and BMI >=24kg/m2 scheduled to undergo primary unilateral TKR by one experienced local orthopedic surgeons since 2 months ago were considered candidates for study inclusion. The Kellgren/Lawrence degree of non-operated leg was <=3 grade.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded if they had 1) perceived TKR or THP of operated leg; 2) systemic disease limited for exercise, such as cardiovascular disease or RA; 3) any history of low extremity fracture; 4) other neurogic problems limiting lower extremity function; 5) pain score of WONAC pain subscale >=5.
