Interventions

Ten-Day treatment group :Ten day Duration of Bismuth-containing Quadruple Therapy (Esomeprazole, bismuth, clarithromycin, amoxicillin)

Fourteen-Day treatment group :Fourteen day Duration of Bismuth-containing Quadruple Therapy (Esomeprazole, bismuth, clarithromycin, amoxicillin)

18 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Peptic ulcer or chronic gastritis diagnosed by endoscopy; 2. The first treated patient with rapid urease test positive or 13C breathing test positive; 3. The resident of the Chongqing City, China; 4. Written informed consent; 5. To be aged between 18 to 60.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Use of proton pump inhibitors, H2 receptor blockers, gastric mucosal protective agent, sedation, prokinetic drugs in past two weeks; 2. Use of antibiotics in pastfour weeks; 3. Pathologically confirmed malignant ulcer; 4. Patients with abnormal liver and kidney function (ALT>2ULN,CCR<60ml/min); 5. Patients with other serious system disease; 6. Pregnancy/lactation; 7. Allergy to the penicillin, macrolides and the study drugs.
