Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) aged at least 18 years old; and (2) diagnosed as Type III CP/CPPS in the NIH consensus definition and classification of prostatitis (Nickel JC, Nyberg LM, Hennenfent M. Research guidelines for chronic prostatitis: consensus report from the first National Institutes of Health International Prostatitis Collaborative Network. Urology. 1999; 54: 229-233).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) had prostate cancer, pelvic radiotherapy, history of transurethral procedures, or urinary tract infection in the past 6 months; (2) had a skin allergy, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, epilepsy, or other unstable medical conditions; (3) had an investigational drug treatment within the past 6 months; or (4) alcoholism or drug abuse within the past year.
