(2) needling method: the patient lying face up, sterilizing the skin on the acupoint, puncturing vertically with one 0.3*40 mm stainless, sterilized and disposable tube needle to a depth of 1-1.2 cun,

18 Years to 30 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) nulliparous women of 18 to 30 years; (2) primary dysmonorrhea with Cold and Dampness Stagnation pattern; (3) duration of primary dysmenorrhoea (self-reported pain) varying from 6 months to 15 years; (4) moderate to severe primary dysmenorrhoea (more than 40-mm on a 100-mm visual analogue scale) for three consecutive menstrual cycles.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) diagnosed secondary dysmenorrhoea (e.g. endometriosis, fibroids); (2) irregular/infrequent menstrual cycles (outside of the typical range 21 to 35 day cycle); (3) complicated with severe diseases (e.g. cerebral, liver, kidney, or hematopoietic system diseases), or mental defects, asthma; (4) pregnant women; (5) intake of analgegic medication in 24 hours before treatment; (6) poor treatment compliance (e.g. unstable working and living situation, difficult follow-up).
