Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) age 18-75 years; (2) type II or III PVTT; (3) Child-Pugh classification grade A or B; (4) Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status score less than 3, and (5) willingness and ability to comply with the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) patients with suspected benign thrombosis; (2) type I or IV PVTT; (3) a locoregional treatment history (surgical resection, stenting, or radiotherapy) for PVTT; (4) a white blood cell concentration of less than 3000 cells per µL, and (5) renal inadequacy defined as a glomerular filtration rate of less than 30 mL/min per 1.73 m2 (chronic kidney disease stage 4-5).
