Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed as major depressive disorder according to DSM-IV; 2. Score of Hamilton ratin scale for depression (17-items) >=18; 3. Duration of illness <2 years; 4. Age <=45 years old; 5. The race is Han and is female.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Bipolar depression, or depression associated with physical illness or caused by substance abuse or dependence; 2. Previously drugs used or psychoactive substance dependence, or other mental disorders; 3. Nervous system diseases; 4. Obvious physical diseases; 5. In pregnant or lactating; 6. Needed treatment of MECT.
