Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. scheduled for laparoscopic colorectal surgery; 2. Aged 75 and above; 3. American society of anesthesiologists (ASA) classification I-III.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. inability to cooperate (e.g.mental disorder, disturbance of consciousness, mental retardation); 2. preoperative administration of diuretics; preoperativeacid–base imbalance or electrolyte (Na, K, Ca, Mg)imbalance; 3. Long-term use of steroid medicines; 4. presence of severe heart disease, or severe pulmonary disease; 5. presence of severe liver and renal insufficiency; 6. Patients with a history of abdominal surgery; 7. received prior fluid therapy ([2,500 ml/day over the 48 h before the surgery).
