Interventions

Group Control:Saline solution was administered from 9pm at the first and the second night after night till 6am of the next morning
Group I:0.1ug/kg/h dexmedetomidine was administered from 9pm at the first and the second night after night till 6am of the next morning
Group II:0.2ug/kg/h dexmedetomidine was administered from 9pm at the first and the second postoperative night till 6am of the next morning
Group III:0.3ug/kg/h dexmedetomidine was administered from 9pm at the first and the second postoperative night till 6am of the next morning

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. the gastrointestinal carcinoma patients underwent selective surgery; 2. patients aged 65 years or older, male or female, whose BMI is within 18~24kg/m2; 3. patients are on their own will, with written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. severe sinus bradycardia(100umol/L); 4. the use of a2 adrenoreceptor agonist or antagonist 24h before the operation; 5. preoperative history of epilepsy; 6. other nervous system diseases which may effect greatly on the sleep quality; 7. obstructive sleep apnea syndrome; 8. sustained sepsis.
