Age
21 Years to 35 Years
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Nulliparous; 2. Full term (>37 weeks) of gestational age; 3. Singleton, Cephalic presentation; 4. Healthy, ASA I or ASA II; 5. Maternal request for labor epidural analgesia; 6. Cervical dilation < or = 4cm at the time of requesting epidural.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. The parturient who desires to eat during labor; 2. Diabetes; 3. Preeclampsia; 4. On magnesium treatment; 5. Morbid Obesity BMI > 35; 6. Prior opioids use; 7. Ate 4cm at the time of assessment; 9. Induction of labor without painful contractions; 10. History of upper gastrointestinal surgery or known significant abnormality.
