Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Hip arthroplasty for femoral neck fracturethe, age of 65 to 85 years old, body mass index(BMI) 21 to 25 kg/m2, American Society of Anesthesiologists(ASA)II to III, Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE) =24.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status of above III; Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE) score of less than 24 or dementia due to various etiologies; history of neurological or mental illness; preoperative delirium; current use of tranquilizers or antidepressants;history of an endocrine or metabolic disorder; recent use of glucocorticoids or other hormones; suffer from infections or chronic inflammatory conditions and those on anti-inflammatory drugs; unwillingness to complete the experimental procedures or the presence of a language barrier; severe hearing or visual impairment; illiteracy; and alcohol or drug dependence.
