Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria included single intrauterine pregnancy at 6-10 weeks of gestational age (as measured by crown-rump length of fetal pole, with or without positive cardiac activity) and per vaginal bleeding.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included inevitable miscarriage, prior use of progestogen in current pregnancy, history of recurrent miscarriages (defined as 3 or more consecutive miscarriages), and pregnancies conceived using assisted reproductive technology.
