Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Established Type II diabetic patients according to the American Diabetes Association (ADA, 2006)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) renal insufficiency, liver failure or other chronic diseases; (2) taking hormonal replacement therapy; (3) pregnant or lactating mothers; (4) taking insulin for diabetes management; (5) taking any other drug containing zinc; (6) wishing to leave the study without any reason, or moving to any other city/or province were excluded from the study
