Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals matching any of the following criteria were diagnosed as T2DM: 1) the glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) = 6.5%; 2) the fasting plasma glucose (FPG) = 7.0 mmol/L (126 mg/dL); 3) the 2h post-prandial plasma glucose (2hPG) = 11.1 mmol/L (200 mg/dL). Adult subjects with T2DM were screened and enrolled if they were also matching the criteria of overweight or obesity, i.e. body mass index(BMI) of = 25 kg/m2, as well as were agreed to participate in this trial.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects were excluded if they had any cardiocerebral vascular events occurring in the last six months or complicated with other severe diseases, such as malignant tumor, mental disorders, etc.
