Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. adults at least 18 years of age; 2. no experience of using powered toothbrush before; 3. in good general health without systemic disease; 4. plaque score greater than 0.5 using the mean Modified Gingival Index (MGI) score is at least 1.75 but not greater than 2.3; 5. Rustogi Modified Navy Plaque Index (RMNPI) score is greater than 0.5.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. subjects in pregnancy or breast-feeding; 2. less than 20 natural teeth; 3. active orthodontic therapy and removable prosthesis; 4. severe periodontal disease: as the presence of one of the following clinical findings: attachment loss of more than 4 mm in a minimum of three teeth, any furcation involvement or pathological tooth mobility; 5. grossly carious teeth or extensive restored teeth, teeth with whole crown; 6. with tumor in oral soft and hard tissue; 7. use of chlorhexidine or antibiotics within 2 weeks of study initiation.
