Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adult (aged =18 years) patients receiving regular hemodialysis three times a week for at least 3 months who had a systolic BP (SBP) =140 mmHg or a diastolic BP (DBP) =90 mmHg and/or were taking antihypertensive medications were screened for eligibility.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included a life expectancy = 6 m, inability to provide written informed consent, and insufficient mental or physical capacity to follow the study protocol.
