Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients 18 years or older consecutively admitted to the study unit after 2 weeks after stroke onset were screened for recruitment.Patients with cerebral infarction or intracerebral hemorrhage, firststroke, defined according to the World Health Organization definition, were all included.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with mRS score >2 on admission; (2) patients who were unable to complete the baseline survey because of serious aphasia, language difficulties, or cognitive deficits; (3) patient with other medical conditions, such as severe heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, which prevented mobilization; and (4) patients who were unable to provide informed consent.
