Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria included double valve replacement, New York Heart Association (NYHA) class I-III, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF)>35%, normal liver and kidney function without history of liver or kidney disease, no inflammatory or immunological diseases and age>18 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Persistent smoking or smoking cessation less than 2 weeks before surgery; any concomitant diseases including acute or chronic pulmonary disease, coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy, diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, infective endocarditis, malignant tumor, and thoracic or spinal deformity; second cardiac operation; unstable preoperative hemodynamics; impairment of blood glucose control; and postoperative low cardiac output.
