Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for volunteers: 1. Patients are coincident the diagnostic criteria of ischemic stroke in diagnostic criteria for various types of cerebrovascular disease established by the Neuroscience Society and the Neurosurgery society in the Fourth National Cerebrovascular Disease Conference in 1995; 2. Patiens with typical hemiplegia and/or hemidysesthesia, and are diagnosed as ischemic stroke in unilateral basal ganglio by CT or MRI; 3. Patients should be in stable condition with an acute onset within 24h. The ages of the patients were 40-65 years old; 4. Patients accepting medication therapy (Aspirin/Plavix and other anti-platelet aggregation drugs, Lipitor/Zocor and other dyslipidaemic agents, Kaishi/ Shuxuening / Diemailing / Kaina and other circulation improvement agents, etc.); 5. Patients with regular diet and sleep, with normal body weight, without smoking and over-drinking tea or coffee; 6. Patients are right handedness; 7. Patients should be informed and sign the informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for volunteers: 1. The course from onset over 24 hours; 2. Patients with cerebral hemorrhage confirmed by CT; 3. Patients with congenital cerebral vascular variations or dysplasia; 4. Patients with heart, liver or kidney disease or cancer; 5. Patients with mental diseases that disturbing the acupuncture intervention, such as conscious disturbance, aphasia, dementia or claustrophobic phobia, etc.; 6. Pregnant women or breast-feeding patients; 7. Patients with metal substances (metal stents, etc.) in the body; 8. Patients who had received acupuncture treatment in the past one month; 9. Patients with acupuncture contraindications, such as hemophilia, etc.
