Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus was made according to fasting glucose level >=7.0 mmol/L or 2-h postprandial plasma glucose level >=11.1 mmol/L. All the type 2 diabetes participants were treated with oral glucose-lowering agents with HbA1c 6.5%~8.0%, fasting plasma glucose 6.5~8.0 mmol/L and post parandial 2-h plasma glucose 8.5~10.5mmol/L.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Type 2 diabetes participants those with a history of established cardiovascular disease (patients at least 40 years old and have a history of a clinical event associated with atherosclerosis involving the coronary, cerebrovascular or peripheral vascular system), abnormal function of kidney, liver or osteoporosis, taking mineral oil products or lipid-lowering agents were excluded.
