Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with persistent or long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation associated with rheumatic mitral valve disease were included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who suffered from degenerative or ischemic mitral valve lesion and patients with paroxysma atrial fibrillation were excluded. In addition, patients who underwent MVR and aortic valve replacement were also excluded.
