Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age range 18 to 80 years; 2. Acute new hemiparesis of at least one extremity, and/or aphasia; 3. Independent in daily living before onset of symptoms, MRS<=2; 4. Brain MRI examination diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke; 5. Symptom onset within 72 h; 6. Patients and their families signed the informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. History: Previous diseases of the brain: Intracranial aneurisms or arterio-venoes malformations. Brain surgery or hemorrhagic stroke. Stroke within the last three-months; 2. Heart diseases: Infectious endocarditis or suspicion of septic emboli, pericarditis, ventricular thrombosis, aneurisms of the heart wall, or major heart failure; 3. Serious diseases: Cancer, AIDS, dementia, significant abuse, renal failure, liver diseases such as liver failure, cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and active hepatitis; 4. Pregnancy; 5. Clinical examination: Unconsciousness (NIHSS > 25); 6. Imaging: Contraindications for MRI scans; 7. Biochemical Index: Blood glucose 22 mmol/l.
