Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Accord with standard of western medicine diagnostic criteria of chronic fatigue syndrome; 2. Accord with standard of T.C.M diagnostic criteria of kidney and spleen-Yang deficiency syndrome; 3. Aged from 18 to 55 years old; 4. Voluntarily signed informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. The sydrome does not belong to the kidney and slpeen-Yang deficiency; 2. Age under 18 or above 55 years old; 3. The diseases which can cause chronic fatigue: (1) Internal medicine diseases including multiple organ failure, such as emphysema, liver cirrhosis, heart failure and chronic renal failure, etc.; (2) The diseases which will take years to be treated, such as myocardial infarction,heart failure; chronic infectious diseases, such as AIDS, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, etc.; (3) Major neurologic disease, like multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disease, epilepsy carbuncle or some other diseases of residual neurologic deficits need drugs which can cause fatigue, stroke and head injury, etc.; (4) The main endocrine diseases, like pituitary function decline and adrenocortical insufficiency, etc.; (5) The diseases which require the systemic treatment, such as organ or bone marrow transplantation, systemic chemotherapy, brain, chest, abdominal or pelvic radiation. Primary sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, the onset of sleep, etc.; (6) The main psychiatric diseases, for example, lifetime of bipolar disorder, any type of schizophrenia, paranoia or dementia, organic brain dysfunction, a history of alcohol or drug abuse during the two years before the fatigue,mental illness or depression which need progressive or preventive drugs, anorexia or bulimia, etc.;(7) The diseases started found or evaluated, such as the side effects of drugs, sleep deprivation,untreated hypothyroidism, untreated or unstable diabetes, infections, etc.; (8) Gradually healed diseases, such as pregnancy or delivery after 3 months, breastfeeding, major surgery after 6 months, minor surgery after 3 months, major infectious diseases like sepsis or pneumonia after 3 months which has been cured, sleep disorders like moving legs syndrome or periodic limb movements, etc, (We ruled out the very serious sleep disorder, but coverr the sleep disorder which can not explain the degree of fatigue), and other organic diseases cause the similar symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome.
