Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. aged 60 years old and above; 2. be diagnosed with symptomatic KOA for at least six months; 3. knee pain caused by KOA and unresponsive to conventional treatments in the previous six months; 4. suffering from KOA-resulted lower limb mobility limitations including stiffness.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. take glucosamine, chondroitin, etc. that could affects the cartilage volume in knee articular; 2. take steroid drugs; 3. have knee surgery, amputation or other major trauma experience; 4. have inflammatory, metabolic or neuropathic arthropathies; 5. have other musculoskeletal issues which limit mobility more than the KOA; 6. have severe concomitant illnesses or cognitive impairment that might interfere with the clinical evaluation; 7. have skin allergy, pressure sore or wound on legs; 8. have received acu-therapy in the previous two weeks
