Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. patients aged 18 to 65 years old; 2. had transient loss of consciousness (syncope, malaise); 3. Symptomatic CO poisoning (headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, muscle aches, slowed mentation, confusion); 4. Carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) levels > 10% or confirmation of poisoning with ambient levels > 50 ppm in a patient with symptoms compatible with CO poisoning and no other reasonable explanation for their signs and symptoms; 5. Less than 24 hours from removal from the source of CO exposure and study enrollment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Poisoning by more than one compound (e.g., CO plus a drug or CO plus other toxic gases such as those found in fire smoke; 2. Suicide attempt; 3. Pregnancy; 4. Coma; 5. Contraindications to HBO (circulatory collapse or pneumothorax); 6. History of central nervous system (CNS) disease (i.e., Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, dementia, demyelinating disease (MS), etc.); 7. Accompany with severe heart failure, respiratory failure, renal failure and et al.
