Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Chinese IBS-D patients meet Rome III diagnostic criteria

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with gastrointestinal organic disease, malignancies, diabetes, a previous history of abdominal surgery, pregnant or lactating women, patients having taken drugs (antibiotics, probiotics and chinese medicine) in 4 weeks, or patients with autoimmune diseases, a body mass index (BMI) <18 and patients that can not subsequently visit the hospital for follow up procedures. All subjects were informed and signed consent forms.
