18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18 to 75 years (both males and female patients) and confirmed diagnosis of CS in accordance with the diagnostic criteria; 2. The main symptom of neck pain; 3. Pain intensity ranging from 3 to 8 pointsas measured on a visual analog scale (VAS) at the time of recruitment; 4. No acupuncture therapy within the 1 months prior to study entry.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Neck pain caused by other diseases ,such as scapulohumeral periarthritis,cervicoshoulder myofascitis and so on; 2. History of neck trauma, cervical fracture or cervical surgery, neurologic impairment (for example,myasthenia or abnormal spinal nerve reflex), or congenital spinal abnormality, or a diagnosis of systemic disease of the bones or joints; 3. Pregnancy or lactation; 4. Complications of severe systematic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, cardiocerebrovascular disorders or tumors; 5. Rejection or fear of acupuncture therapy; 6. Use of any other treatments (drug or non-drug).
