1:The participants received IPL alone in the left side of the face or in combination with AFL in the right side of the face.
2:The participants received IPL alone in the right side of the face or in combination with AFL in the left side of the face.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The Eligible subjects in the study were women between 40-60 years; had Fitzpatrick skin type III and IV; and in a generally good health condition.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) recent exposure to the sun; 2) patients with light sensitivity or porphyria who were unable to undergo light therapy; 3) progressive psoriasis, vitiligo, or keloids and hypertrophic scars; 4) autoimmune diseases or serious systemic diseases; 5) malignant tumors or precancerous lesion in the skin or other organs; 6) damage or infection in the skin for light therapy; 7) herpes simplex infection in the previous 6 months; 8) the use of photosensitive drugs or topical retinoids in the previous four weeks; 9) the use of systemic corticosteroids or oral retinoids in the previous 6 months; 10) facial laser photon beauty or similar treatments in the previous 6 months; 11) facial filling or wire implantation; 12) the use of oral contraceptives; and 13) pregnancy and lactation.
