Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were patient age 16 to 60 years, Weber C fracture, a malleolar fracture with a deltoid ligament rupture [medial clear space widening (more than two times to the space of tibiotalar joint or the uninjured side) with valgus and external rotation stress], a fracture that had occurred <2 weeks previously, one and only surgical treatment was the operation of the ankle joint, no previous ankle fractures or abnormalities.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were open fracture, ankle instability, and pathologic fracture, associated with talar and/or calcaneus of the same side of ankle fracture.
