Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 16 to 60 years; a PER IV ankle fracture with posterior malleolus involvement, and with a deltoid ligament rupture (medial clear space widening without medial malleolus involvemnt); a fracture that had occurred <2 weeks previously, one and only surgical treatment was the operation of the ankle joint, no previous ankle fractures or abnormalities.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were open fracture, ankle instability, and pathologic fracture, associated with talar and/or calcaneus of the same side of ankle fracture
