Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Neurosurgical institute put forward the diagnostic standard in the diagnosis of PVS in Japan in 1972; Glasgow coma scale (GCS) scoring eight points for the following; Confirmed by head CT or MRI.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The onset of more than 24 h after admission.
