Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged younger than 60 years; 2. the largest tumor diameter smaller than 4 cm; 3. after excluding the effect of cervical and oropharyngeal inflammation, no obviously enlarged or abnormal cervical lymph nodes (>1 cm) found with preoperative color ultrasonography; 4. no tumor invasion of thyroid capsule found preoperatively and intraoperatively; 5. informed consent to endoscopic near-total thyroidectomy or conversion to open surgery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. with hoarseness caused by tumor invasion of recurrent laryngeal nerve; 2. with metastatic cervical lymph nodes; 3. with tracheal stenosis or deformation caused by tumor compression or invasion; 4. with history of thyroid surgery; 5. rejection to endoscopic surgery; 6. pregnant and lactating women.
